If you’re like me you’d love, golf club sets
, to be able to play a round of golf everyday of your life. I live and breath the game, unfortunately I’m not good enough to play professionally so I’ll settle for a round or two on the weekend and a trip to the driving range once a week. I wasn’t always this way though, when I first was learning the game of golf, I’d always be excited for a game, but find myself, golf club sets
, very frustrated with my inability to play consistently by about the 5th or 6th hole.
I would go to the driving range and do what I thought was “practicing” and hit a bucket of balls with my driver, but every round would be the same. Some great shots, but a lot more crappie shots. It took me realizing that I needed some professional golf swing instruction before I was able to reach my goals of breaking 90 and enjoying the game a lot more.
While I did, golf club sets
, sign up and take some group golf lessons I found that the instruction format wasn’t good for me.
I had a good understanding of the basics, but I didn’t want to have to take a dozen lessons to learn all of the skills. I wanted to improve on what I already knew, and it was a set of instructional videos that really brought my game to the next level. This article brings to light the three important points about the game of golf I realized when I finally broke the code and began to lower my score.
Leave the technical, golf club sets
, play to the Pros you learn how to swing consistently
The first important point I want to mention is this, golf pros spend a lot of time practicing. They have a mastery over the technique of the game and have a confidence level that they’ll make every shot that you and I can only dream of. It’s important to realize that it’s ok if you don’t swing the same as Tiger Woods or other players on the tour.
As weekend golfers we need to know our limitations and play, golf club sets
, within those.
This was very apparent to me when I was being critiqued at my first group golf lesson. The teacher was trying to explain to me how a particular pro would do their back swing, to me it didn’t make sense to try and emulate a pro when I was not one. From there forward I set out to find an instructor that could provide me with quality beginner golf instruction for a player at my skill level.
There are more clubs in your bag then the driver
I’ve spent my fair share of time a the driving range, as I am sure many of you have as well. How many times would you go to the range and hit a full bucket of balls with just your driver? The thing about the driver is that it’s the one club everyone wants to hit perfectly so badly yet it’s probably one of the least used clubs in the bag to ratio of total number of strokes in a round.
Consider this, you shoot 100 in a round, at most you might have hit your driver 15 times, that’s only 15% of your shots. While compared to your putter, you may have hit it 40 times. Where do you want to put your work in. Give this a try next, golf club sets
, time you’re at the driving range, imagine your playing a course you like, start on hole number one in your mind and grab the club from your bag you’d normally hit off the tee.
If the shot is good, imagine where you’d be on the hole, if it wasn’t so great still do the same. Would you need to recover with a long iron or fairway wood, or are you maybe just a 7-iron into the tee? This allows you to use and practice with more of the clubs in your bag, and learn some great course management skills. Trust me this will help you out a lot more then hitting 100 balls with just your driver.
Full Swing, Chipping, Pitching, and Putting
When I used to play a round of golf I really only had one swing I used besides my putter of course. Although I never really thought about each shot on a hole as a different part of the game. The fact is though they are different parts of the game. Once I began watching and learning from golf instruction videos I began to see that the setup and mechanics of a pitch or chip shot was very different from that which I used with my full swing 200 yards out.
Once I began controlling those short game shots I saw up to a dozen strokes per round fall off of my score. Then I started spending time with my putter at the practice range, making putt after putt after putt. I saw another 4 or 6 strokes per round fade, golf club sets
, away. Treating the game as separate pieces really helps improve your consistency and score.
As mentioned before don’t spend all your time on just your long shots, spend equal time developing your short game and putting.
They, golf club sets
, do make up over 50% of the strokes you take in most rounds, so they deserve the attention.
These three points were the building blocks for me to improve my game. I knew what to focus on, where to spend my time all I had to do was seek out the right information to help me learn what I needed to know. It was golf swing instructional videos that helped me become a more consistent golfer, and it might be different for you but these principles will be the same, golf club sets
, .
Once you being to see improvement your confidence will grow. With confidence the golf becomes a completely different game. No longer do you ask yourself can I make that shot? You’ll know you have the consistency to make the shot and chances are you will. I recommend highly if you’re struggling with the game and sometimes have more frustration then fun seek out some golf instruction whether it be via books, videos or lessons.
Do it for yourself you’ll shoot better, score lower, and have a lot more fun.
